What We Cover

Health Insurance

Individual Plans

ACA Compliant/Exchange Plans

  • Open Enrollment Period - choose the right balance of monthly premiums versus out-of-pocket expenses that's right for your budget. Government subsidies may be available for qualified individuals.
  • Special Enrollment Period - available after a qualifying life event like getting married, having a baby, moving to a new area or losing other health coverage. It typically lasts 60 days from the triggering event.

Short Term Plans or indemnity health plans - available without a qualifying event. Provides temporary coverage for unexpected illnesses and injuries.

Religious Sharing Plans - affordable health sharing plans from religious organizations available without a qualifying event. Members are exempt from ACA tax penalties.

Group Plans - health insurance costs for small businesses have nearly doubled since 2009. We provide innovative cost saving solutions to help you manage expenses.

Life Insurance

  • Term Life Insurance - helps cover specific financial responsibilities, like a mortgage or college expenses, for a specific time period at a reasonable price.
  • Whole Life insurance - designed to protect you for your entire lifetime. Offers level premiums with a portion of the premium going into a guaranteed cash value account that is accessible.
  • Universal Life Insurance - a permanent insurance that can last a lifetime with the monthly premium building cash value within the policy.
  • Final Expense Insurance - an affordable way to provide the financial resources to help cover your funeral costs, other final expenses or outstanding debts.
  • Income Continuation for the Family

Medicare Options

Medicare Supplement Insurance  Plans (Medigap) - are available to help "fill the gaps" in your Medicare Part A and Part B coverage.

  • In most states, Medicare supplement plans are standardized and labeled A through N.
  • Some carriers may offer additional benefits with their Medicare supplement plans.

Medicare Advantage Plans are available to cover all Medicare services and may also offer extra coverage such as vision, hearing, dental, and other health or wellness programs. Most Medicare Advantage plans include prescription drug coverage (Part D).

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (Part D). Medicare Part A and B do not cover prescription drugs. You must purchase a Prescription Drug Plan (Part D) or a Medicare Advantage Plan (Part C) that includes Prescription Drug Coverage.

Senior Dental and Vision Plans

Medicare Special Enrollment Period: You may qualify to enroll in or change your Medicare health plan if you lose employer sponsored coverage, you've recently moved or you live in a nursing home.

Medicare Initial Enrollment is available to those who are newly eligible for Medicare with 90 days before or after the month of their eligibility.

We Also Cover

Supplemental

These plans generally pay a cash benefit directly to you. Use the money for out-of-pocket medical expenses, deductibles, to offset a loss of income, or pay everyday living expenses. The most common types include:

  • Accident Only Plan - cash benefit for injuries caused by an accident.
  • Critical Illness/Cancer Plan- lump sum cash benefit for a first diagnosis of a specific cancer or major illness.
  • Hospital Confinement Plan- cash benefits for hospital confinement related to an accident or illness.
  • Disability Income Plan - cash benefits when you are unable to work due to illness or injury.
  • Dental and Vision Plans - allow you to manage your dental and vision needs.

Important upcoming dates

October 15 - December 7 _ Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment - any eligible Medicare beneficiary can join or change a Medicare Advantage Plan. Call me to review available and new plans in your area. Let me verify that your doctors and prescriptions are covered in the network before you choose a new plan.

November 2018 - New plans and prices will be available for open enrollment application for individual health plans on the Federal Healthcare Marketplace. Call for no cost calculation of your tax credit and a comparison of coverages on new plans.

Long Term Care

Long-Term care needs typically arise as part of the normal aging process, but can also be due to an injury, illness or a cognitive impairment such as Alzheimer's. Care can be given at an assisted living facility, a nursing home or at home. When reviewing your options consider:

  • Total Benefit Amount - the money available for payment of your benefits.
  • Benefit Period - minimum period of years you can expect your benefits to last.
  • Elimination Period - number of days you are required to pay for the cost of care before your policy begins to pay benefits for an eligible claim.

Hottest Trends

Religious Sharing Plans -  Can be joined at any time. Their members are exempt from the ACA tax penalty. They are much less expensive than ACA plans with similar benefits if you are not receiving a significant tax credit. They limit coverage of pre-existing conditions.  Popular plans include:

  • Medishare - one of the largest and oldest with a history of reliability. Call for quotes and information.
  • Alieracare/Unity Healthshare - has included benefits more similar to comprehensive medical plans. Quotes available online: http://www.alierahealth.com/index.cfm?id=280008

Life Insurance that pays income to your beneficiaries until you would have been 70 instead of a lump sum. Less risk of wasting the money too soon and it is much less than a term policy with a lump some of the same projected amount. Call for information or a quote.
